Another evening walk

Two times in a row makes it a tradition, right?  We cruised around the neighborhood tonight again in the evening just before sunset.  Here are the highlights.

We petted several friendly neighborhood cats, none that we knew personally, but they seem to recognize “cat people” and come up for pats.

We wondered about this giant live oak tree that sadly doesn’t look particularly healthy.  Hopefully it’s just temporarily under the weather.

We went back to what I’ve been calling the “roller coaster” house but its official name is the “J house”.  We’re keeping up with the progress of this unusual home being built just six or so blocks away.  You can read more about it here.  My sweetheart took this photo and the one below.

And then more cats.  I think we saw at least six cats on our rather short walk.  Evening’s a good time to visit with random cats.  They’re all out in the driveways and sidewalks – maybe waiting for their owners to come home and feed them.

Finally, moon with power lines.  Have you ever seen the R. Crumb comic that shows how power lines have taken over the world?  Here’s a link to a blog that has the famous image.

And here’s my tribute to power lines, plus the moon.

    Have a good day.

You have very friendly cats! Out here in the country the barn cats and feral cats run away as soon as a person appears.

I enjoyed your walk, your photos, and the link to the Crumb sketch which I’ve never seen before. 🙂

Thanks! We have lots of feral cats too, but plenty of domestic inside-outside cats who seem to love some attention. Also glad you liked the R. Crumb link. A long time ago we watched a movie about him – fascinating person and artist.

  4. Here’s to lovely walks and friendly cats!

Loved following you on this walk around your neighborhood! The image of the J House is really neat the way the lines repeat and the way the light falls on them.

    So many friendly kitties!

Wow, you (and your husband) captured some great images! I love your blue dress, and that house is wild! Cool moon shot, too.

  7. Interesting how cats know about cat people- fun to see them waiting for some attention!

Lovely… that is quite the unusual house… and what a great group of cats in your area. I’m a cat person too. 😉
