Summer Treat #19: The wading pool

One of my favorite spots in the summer, especially when the water is clear and there’s no one there.  A personal oasis about a mile from home. More details and photos of this beautiful landmark here.

    This is where we take our Great Dane, when it is too hot for him to venture outside in most places. He stands in the cool water, takes a lap around the fountain on the grass, then comes back to stand and cool off. Definitely a place of peace.

    I adore the sculpture of the woman dipping her toe in, testing the water…

      I think it’s a boy, but yes, I do too! I have a favorite photo that my sweetheart took of me years ago, with my arm around the boy, dipping my toe in, looking at the water.
